Historian and curator Sudeshna Guha leads an illustrated talk exploring how early photography in India intersected with the ways people and communities were documented and represented between 1855 and 1920. The session accompanies DAG’s Typecasting: Photographing the Peoples of India, 1855–1920, an exhibition bringing together rare photographs and archival material from the period.
