Stitched Stories is a hands-on mixed-media art workshop presented by the Kolkata Centre for Creativity, where participants explore the art of storytelling through a beautiful combination of watercolour, fabric, paper and hand stitching. Facilitated by mixed-media artist Pallabi Dhara, whose practice delves into themes of memory, domestic spaces and women’s experiences — the session guides participants through layering techniques, the transparent and expressive use of watercolour and beginner-friendly stitching directly on paper. The workshop draws on deeply personal sources of inspiration: memory, home and the quiet poetry of everyday life. Each participant leaves with a unique, tactile artwork that is entirely their own — a visual story told through materials and touch. Designed to be welcoming for both complete beginners and those with prior artistic experience, the session offers a nurturing space to experiment, reflect and express freely. Friends and family are encouraged to join together, making it as much a shared experience as a personal one. If you've ever wanted to slow down, get your hands into something meaningful and create something beautiful from the stories you carry — this is the workshop for you.
