Poush Mela is one of West Bengal’s most enduring winter traditions — a six-day community fair that brings together folk music, handcrafted goods, local food and cultural performances in the heart of Santiniketan. The fair is back this December with Visva-Bharati University and the Santiniketan Trust co-organising the celebrations on the historic Purba Palli grounds. Expect thousands of visitors, Baul performances, artisan stalls and a lively atmosphere that reflects the spirit of Bengal’s folk heritage.
