Aalap is a performance-lecture that explores the development of the Dhrupad and Khayal traditions in 18th-century Hindustani classical music. Led by the acclaimed Nisha Pal and Dr. Anandvardhan, the session combines live musical demonstrations with discussion to examine the distinctive characteristics, historical context and aesthetic evolution of these two vocal forms.
